• Researchers in Hong Kong report that a single injection of Botox can relieve stubborn cases of tennis elbow for up to three months.

• To stop a child from nail biting, try applying a bitter tasting nail coating every morning and throughout the day. (Orly’s No Bite is a good one, available at nail salons.)

• For beautiful houseplants, sprinkle used coffee grounds over them. The grounds provide nutrients.

• To prevent your cutting board from sliding around on the counter as you cut, place a piece of rubber drawer liner underneath.

• Sauce too thin? Add a small amount of leftover cooked rice to the sauce, and then puree it in a blender. The sauce will thicken instantly without tasting floury.

• Add a splash of vinegar to your dishwater to dissolve grease and make even the messiest pots a cinch to wash.
