• Got an egg that cracked while boiling? Add a splash of vinegar to the water – it will help seal the shell so your egg will still be good.

• For a lighter, crispier coating on onion rings or other fried foods, substitute an equal amount of club soda or beer for the liquid in your batter.

• Use a serrated knife to chop chocolate faster and better than a regular knife.

• Got a plastic jar of honey that’s crystallized? Make it liquid again by placing the whole sealed jar in very warm water until the honey melts.

• To erase rust from porcelain, scrub the area with a paste made from lemon juice and borax.

• To keep boiled cauliflower looking its whitest, add a squeeze of lemon juice or a splash of vinegar to the cooking water before adding the veggies.
